There are two ways to book a charter with Capt. Gus, either by phone @ (772) 589-0008, or by e-mailing info.psc@sebastianfishingguides.com. Please include an evening or cell phone # in your message. Your inquiry will be acted on promptly, usually the same day it is received. A phone conversation is preferred because Capt. Gus can ask and answer all the necessary questions and make recommendations based on his 20+ years of charter fishing experience.
Some information Capt. Gus will need when booking:
- DATE – A specific date, or to allow for flexibility, a specific time period when would like to fish.
- NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS – Anyone getting aboard, angler or non-angler. This will determine which vessel will be used and what types of fishing can be done.
- AGES & SKILL LEVEL OF ANGLERS –Very helpful in planning the right type of trip, as well as having age appropriate safety gear on board.
- EXPECTATIONS – Family fun, catching a specific species, trophy hunting, catch and release, dinner for your group, etc… Satisfying your request is Capt. Gus’s goal; however, expectations should not exceed the anglers’ abilities, or any limitations imposed by the law, the season or weather. These will be explained during your conversation with Capt. Gus.
- Example: A seven year old with no experience fishing in July with perfect weather, can reasonably expect to catch large snook, redfish, king mackerel or tarpon. The same child on winter break will be best served learning how to become proficient with a spinning rod while fishing jigs for ladyfish, jacks and trout. Both will be fun trips. The July trip can yield some wall-hanging photos and enough kingfish fillets to invite the relatives for dinner; the winter trip can yield constant action, memorable family photos, lifelong skills, fishing knowledge and possibly enough trout fillets to feed the anglers a nice lunch back at the marina.
Remember, you are hiring Capt. Gus to provide a fun, safe and enlightening day out on the water, don’t let the out-dated notion of “bringing home dinner” or even worse “filling your freezer” get in the way of making memories and having fun with friends.
